[Rack Scaffolding Construction Achievements] Tajiri Sky Bridge

The maximum spacing between the left and right rails has been expanded from 24m to 29m! It is now possible to accommodate wide bridges!

We would like to introduce our construction achievements related to the seismic reinforcement work on the main bridge section (a prestressed concrete two-span continuous cable-stayed bridge) of the Tajiri Sky Bridge, which spans the Tajiri Fishing Port, along Osaka Prefectural Route 63, Izumisano-Iwade Line. The issue of yacht masts interfering with the permanent suspended scaffolding and rendering navigation impossible for vessels entering and exiting Tajiri Fishing Port was resolved by using a "rack scaffold." Additionally, after conducting a full-scale load test to confirm safety, we utilized floor truss materials with increased rigidity. As a result, it became possible to widen the spacing between the left and right rails compared to the initial plan. We changed the method of fixing the rail suspension points to the main girder from post-installed anchors to ground-mounted brackets (which do not require post-installed anchors), allowing us to lay the rails without damaging the main girder. The full-scale load test conducted this time expanded the maximum spacing between the left and right rails from 24 meters to 29 meters, enabling us to accommodate wider bridges as well. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
